BEST Swimmers Bring Home 16 Medals

Following the conclusion of the second of three weekends of Swim England Northwest Summer Regional Championships a further 16 medals were added to the clubs tally.

Last weekend it was the turn of the 11/12 years 13 and 14 age groups and again BEST swimmers were on great form with swimmers producing significant “pb” times right across the squad.

Evie Cutter was once again on fantastic form coming away as the 13 years 100m Freestyle Regional Champion winning in a time of 1:01 and then going on to take a silver in the 200 IM and 100m Backstroke capping off a busy weekend also went on to add the 50 Backstroke and 200 Fly to her total creating new pb times in all her events.

Matthew Sawers became a double Regional Champion when he took both the 13 year-olds 1500 and 400 Freestyle titles winning in new pb times of 18:24 and 4:40. Matthew went on to continue his fine performances by adding a bronze medal in the 200 freestyle again creating a new pb time.

Isobel Liptrot became the clubs 2nd double Regional Champion over the weekend when she took the 14 years 50 and 100 Backstroke in winning times of 31.8 and 1:08. In the 100 Freestyle Isobel snatched an excellent bronze finishing in 1:02.

Jorja Howard produced her best performance to date when she powered her way to become the 11 / 12 years 50 Backstroke Regional Champion winning in a pb time of 33.7. Jorja went on to create more pb times when she came home with the silver in the 100 event and 400 freestyle both in fantastic pb times.

A massive pb time saw James Vaughan become the Regional Champion when he dominated the 11 / 12 year boys 200 IM winning in 2:39. In the 14 year age group Alfie Owen continued his development when he took the bronze medal in 200 IM dropping his best time to 2:35 in the process.

In all a great weekends work from everyone with a further 12 swimmers making finals and producing best ever performances we now look forward to more medals and great performances over the final weekend.
