Membership Information
Membership to Wigan BEST ASC is available to all members of Wigan Council BEST Swim Squad.
For the benefit of our new parents Wigan BEST has 2 elements we have the swim squad side which is managed by Be Well Wigan Council and includes all the training aspects of what we do and the monthly training fee that everyone pays is paid to directly to Be Well Wigan Council and covers the training costs.
Wigan BEST (Borough Elite Swim Club) Swimming Club is affiliated to Swim England and is the competitive side to what we do and is managed by a voluntary management committee made up of elected members from our parents. The club over sees the support the swimmers need for competition and any additional training the swimmers may need. The only income for the club comes from the “Future Stars Open Meet” and the annual club membership fee which is due from the 1st January 2021.
Swimmers who are in the squad and training in the National – Age Group Performance and Age Group Development must be members of Wigan BEST ASC, any Junior Development who wish to compete under Wigan BEST at County – Regional – National and any Open Meets must also be full members of Wigan BEST and have paid the annual membership fee.
The Wigan annual fee for 2021 has been kept at £40. The committee have respectively requested if members could ensure payment is made no later than the 31st January 2022.
The Swim England registration fee is payable by all registered swimmers who wish to compete and is paid through the club which you have your longest unbroken membership. If that club is Wigan BEST could you please include the Swim England Registration payment along with your club annual fee of £40.

It would be appreciated if you could use your child’s name along with “Membership” in the reference when making payment this way, and notify us when payment has been made. If you wish to pay by cheque please make the cheque payable to “Wigan BEST”
